To start out with, what is Windows? Windows in an Operating System (OS). It is basically an interface that allows the common person to easily interact with the files on their computer. Windows has many different Versions. They are:

*Windows 95 (Win95)
*Windows 98 (Win98)
*Windows ME (WinME) Note: Also called Windows Millenium
*Windows NT (WinNT)
*Windows 2000 (Win2K)
*Windows XP (WinXP)

How do you know which version of Windows you have on your computer? Even if you already know, do this anyways. When you are at your Desktop (this is the basic Windows screen with all of your icons on it) you should see an icon that says "My Computer". Simply right-click on this, and then left-click on "Properties" from the menu. On the window that comes up, you should now be able to see what version you have under the "System" header. Click on [Cancel] to exit this window.
